Have you ever wished that you had an older sister to talk to in the middle of the night while sitting in the hospital with your parents?
My name is Kelli and I am the Oldest Sister. Over the past few decades I’ve cared for my mom, gram and dad. During that time there wasn’t a ton of information available on caregiving, in fact I’m not sure caregiving was even a term! Fortunately, there are now lot’s of resources and information available, but how do you put all the pieces together?
The Oldest Sister is a community designed with you in mind, that offer’s more than just a pamphlet. There are so many things that are never discussed. It can be sad and sometimes even embarrassing to see someone you love go through the changes that come with old age. We live in a society where children can have certain needs or behaviors, but we don’t view aging adults in the same way.
Caregiving is filled with unthinkable challenges that can be difficult to discuss even with those closest to you.
We’re here to point you in the right direction, provide resources, information, and offer a shoulder to cry on.
You may be feeling resentful, guilty, confused, overwhelmed, or all of the above. You’ve now taken on a whole new world on top of the one you were already in. What happens to your family, career, health and personal sanity? With so much going on, where do you even begin?
The Oldest Sister will provide you with a roadmap. There will be good and bad days, ups and downs, but through it all you’ll have a community standing at your side.
